Highlands Ranch-based medical device manufacturer Sandhill Scientific, Inc. has announced the acquisition of Oakfield Instruments, Ltd. of Oxford, England and their U.S. subsidiary, Oakfield Instruments, Inc. Sandhill produces diagnostic equipment used mainly by gastroenterologists. Oakfield manufactures similar products and has a strong presence through product sales into the U.K. and Europe.
According to Rick Jory, Sandhill's president and CEO, "We view this as a key acquisition as we continue our expansion into key geographic regions of the world. While Oakfield s revenues will add to our top line, we will use Oakfield s U.K. facility and production capabilities specifically toward enhancing our sales and service support into both the U.K. and Europe. We're dedicated to serving this important and rapidly growing market for our products".
Oakfield manufactures diagnostic devices used to monitor and diagnose gastroesophageal reflux, complementing a portion of Sandhill's product line. These products utilize a series of catheters manufactured at Sandhill's Prague, Czech Republic facility. Mr. John Giddings, Oakfield's Managing Director, will continue in this capacity and will manage what will now be called "Sandhill Scientific-UK".
